Additions and alterations to a house used historically as administrative quarters
for the neighbouring social housing.The dwelling’s orientation opposes the
single fronted terraces that mark the general streetscpe,providing
opportunities for a sunny north-facing front garden.A conceptual challenge of
the notion of’threshold’ is tested by disguising the front door amidst a serial of
steel and glass openable panels that mark the facade.

Client’s note
Nikhila provided a supportive and collaborative process throughout a very large renovation, understanding our needs and wants for our growing family and accommodating them into a beautiful and functional design. Her commitment extended throughout the build process, ensuring we could move in as soon as possible. Two and a half years in, we have a beautiful home that is much loved by us, our two pre-schoolers and the friends we love to entertain there.
